The citizenship process provides a nice analogy to our relationship with God and the Kingdom. In many countries, full citizenship is available following a period of being a resident alien. Spiritually speaking, we are all resident aliens on earth because our true citizenship is in Heaven (Philippians 3:20). As we await full citizenship, our role is to glorify God by fulfilling the purpose to which we have been called (Hebrews 11:10-16). And just think, in Heaven there’s no such thing as an expired passport!
