Don’t Sit This One Out

By Linda Tancs

We’ll all familiar with sitting things out. It might be on the dance floor. Or the sports field. In one way or another, we opt out of something, or some things, in life. There’s a faith-filled song called “I Hope You Dance” that exhorts us not to sit it out but to dance. As physicist Sir Isaac Newton said, an object in motion stays in motion. Press on and persevere (Philippians 3:14) and God will meet you there (Proverbs 13:4).

Take the Wheel

By Linda Tancs

Singer Carrie Underwood recorded a song entitled “Jesus, Take the Wheel.” It’s about letting go, letting God handle the situation. During hard times we cry out to Jesus to take the wheel, steer us where He wants us to go. And sometimes, that request may be greeted with silence. Does that mean God doesn’t care? Of course not. Maybe you’re asking God to do something you could easily do yourself (Proverbs 13:4). Perhaps He wants you to take the wheel. In other words, step out and find out. Get in the driver’s seat.
