You know that you were made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27), fearfully and wonderfully (Psalm 139:14). So imagine how wonderful His image is! Actually, you don’t have to imagine. The Bible provides information on the countenance of God. For instance, John’s epistle tells us that God is bathed in light (1 John 1:15). No wonder, then, that Jesus tells us we’re the light of the world (Matthew 5:14), just like Him. Likewise, the countenance of Jesus is described as featuring eyes like flames of fire and snow-white hair like wool (Revelation 1:14), with feet like burnished bronze and a voice like the roar of many waters (Revelation 1:15). Now there’s an image worth emulating.
