The species to which human beings belong is known as Homo sapiens, which is Latin for “wise human.” How appropriate that the word chosen for this human race was “wise.” Good choice. The Bible has much to say about wisdom. For instance, God ordained it a valuable treasure (Proverbs 8:11) and even commands us to acquire it (James 1:5; Proverbs 3:13-18). How do you do that? By reading the Bible, the source of all God’s knowledge and understanding and the means to discern the truth in all things. Be wise, human.
