The poet William Wordsworth exclaimed, “Go forth into the light of things; let nature be your teacher.” That theme is illustrated by Psalm 104, which meditates on the natural world and God’s care for it. The psalmist marvels at the rhythm of the sun and moon, the behaviors in the animal kingdom, the life-giving properties of water. The wonderment underlying this psalm leads to a greater appreciation of the One who created the Earth. Wordsworth was right: nature is our teacher. It teaches us to seek after God.
