What do you expect to see when you’re in the desert? Aside from the occasional mirage or oasis, the answer is probably nothing. The desert is a barren place, a blank canvas. That may sound despairing, but it’s actually a benefit. The desert is the perfect place to draw from. It’s not a coincidence that the Bible uses the desert frequently as a place to illustrate great truths. The same is true for us. In those barren places, or moments, is where unveiling happens (Luke 7:24-30).
